The Tri-City ValleyCats racked up a win at Bowman Field, bumping off the Williamsport Crosscutters, 4-2. Justin Hose, who started for Tri-City, pitched effectively for his team. Hose got the win, improving to 8-1. He gave up 5 hits and walked 3 over 6.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. Brian Schwartz was credited with the save for Tri-City, his 1st of the season.

Tri-City used a clutch at-bat from Ludovic Giugino to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the third inning to put the ValleyCats ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"I just tried to focus on getting that first guy out every inning," said Hose.

Tri-City is now 25-27, while Williamsport is 24-27.
