The State College Spikes marched over the Vermont Lake Monsters, 15-3, at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. Jamie Webb led the charge. He went 2-4 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. The Spikes saw their win-loss record go to 34-18. At the same time, the Lake Monsters fell to 20-32.

Bill Hoyt had a big 2-run double for the Spikes in the bottom of the first inning. With State College leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a sinker from Mike Thompson and swatted a double to left. It was his 14th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Spikes ahead, 3-0.

Vermont manager Dana Joseph said: "We got ambushed. We just sashayed into the canyon and they were firing from both sides."
