The State College Spikes used a top-flight performance from Carlos Blanco, who is tied for 2nd in the NYP in strikeouts with 81, to beat the Auburn Doubledays, 2-0, in 11 innings. The Spikes saw their record improve to 27-26.

Blanco, the State College left-hander, went 8.2 innings, allowing no runs on 5 hits. He collected 10 strikeouts.

"Tough ballgame, tough loss," said Auburn manager Carlos Lugo.
