Cyclones Top Ironbirds in Extras, 4-3
|
No one was more impactful than Ethan Robinson in the 4-3 Brooklyn win over Aberdeen. Robinson, the 16th overall pick in the 2093 draft, went 3 for 6 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs. Brooklyn reliever Jimmy Belding was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Jeff Gifford. With the win, Brooklyn pushed its record to 44-10.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 11th. With one out, Robinson hit a fastball from Jeff Gifford for a run-scoring single. The Cyclones, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
Aberdeen manager Chris Bush said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
