Valles Lifts Cyclones to 4-0 Win
|
The timely hitting of Luis Valles helped the Brooklyn Cyclones down the Hudson Valley Renegades, 4-0. Valles was 4-4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Cyclones. The win was credited to Dan Soulard in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Rusty Allen took the loss. The second-place Cyclones improved to 36-19.
Ernesto Rios had a direct impact on the outcome. Rios contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth inning to put Brooklyn up, 1-0.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Rios, "and then get after it again."
