Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Staten Island Yankees and Connecticut Tigers.

Starting pitcher Justin Harper took care of business, helping the Staten Island Yankees stifle the Connecticut Tigers, 4-1. At 30-26, the Yankees are currently second in the McNamara Division.

The Tigers had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Yankees going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old right fielder Zack Fross came to the plate. Fross hit a 2-run triple on a full count splitter from Connecticut hurler Bryan Hoffman. It was Fross's 1st triple of the year.
