Aberdeen Sunk by Tri-City, 1-0
|
Rich Liverman was nothing short of phenomenal for the Tri-City ValleyCats. The 24-year-old right-hander was a big reason his team beat the Aberdeen Ironbirds, 1-0. The winner was Tri-City reliever Matt Myers, now 3-1. The loser was Adam Pollard. Elard Spierenburg got the save, the 3rd for him this season.
Tri-City took control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Billy Mejia hit a run-scoring single to make it 1-0, ValleyCats.
"You can't win if you don't score any runs," said losing manager Josh Ouderkirk. "You don't need Confucius to tell you that."
Tri-City has now won 3 in a row.
