Brooklyn Wins, 4-2
|
Brooklyn rode a fine outing from starter Danny Botelho to victory over the Tri-City ValleyCats at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium. The final score was 4-2. J.D. Barbour, now 2-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. The win puts the Cyclones at 47-10, while the ValleyCats drop to 34-23.
Brooklyn used a timely hit from Jonathan Valentine to get the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Cyclones ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"Slowly but surely, the wins are piling up," said Valentine.
