Brett Hinders was outstanding against Staten Island. The left-hander had a splitter that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Spinners 6-1 win. The Spinners now own a record of 21-36.

Lowell used the hitting of Robby Dowd to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a grand slam home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Spinners on top, 6-0. For the game, Dowd had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Erik Bowman.
