ValleyCats Defeat Cyclones, 7-6
|
The Tri-City ValleyCats scored a tight 7-6 win versus the Brooklyn Cyclones at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium. Tri-City pitcher Glenn Beeler held his own in the contest. Tri-City pitcher Justin Mackey got the win, upping his record to 8-2. Chris Green got the loss. The second-place ValleyCats lifted their record to 35-23.
The ValleyCats relied on left fielder Sean Page for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the tenth, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
"We battled our tails off to get this win," said Tri-City manager Alex Ordonez.
