The Staten Island Yankees withstood an impressive performance by Lowell designated hitter Eddie Molina to defeat the Spinners, 7-5, at Richmond County Bank Ballpark. Molina went 3-4 with a home run and 2 doubles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The second-place Yankees now have a record of 31-27.

Ben Schultz, who is tied for 4th in the NYP in stolen bases with 21, aided the Staten Island cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the second. For the game, the second baseman was 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
