Dominant Performance by Maida in Williamsport Win
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Williamsport Crosscutters and the West Virginia Black Bears, Josh Maida, who is tied for 3rd in the NYP in strikeouts with 89, proved to be the difference. The Williamsport right-hander earned props for his performance in the 1-0 Crosscutters win. Picking up his 6th save was 23-year old right-handed pitcher Danny Miranda. The last-place Crosscutters now have a win-loss record of 9-49.
Maida made it look easy. He scattered 6 hits over 8 innings, while racking up 9 strikeouts. The right-hander upped his season record to 2-11.
"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Maida. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."
