Tri-City pitcher Bobby Vega did his part in helping his team defeat the Brooklyn Cyclones, 3-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Brian Schwartz got the save, the 3rd for him this season. The second-place ValleyCats are 29-30.

Ludovic Giugino had a big run-scoring double for the ValleyCats in the bottom of the second inning. With Tri-City leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a curveball from 27-year old left-handed pitcher Trevor Owen and swatted a double to right. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the ValleyCats ahead, 2-0.

"Bobby was doing a good job pouring in strikes," said Tri-City manager Eddie DiGiovine.
