ValleyCats Get 3-1 Win Versus Brooklyn
The Brooklyn Cyclones and Tri-City ValleyCats were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

The Tri-City ValleyCats got a magnificent performance from pitcher Juan Gomez, who stifled the Brooklyn offense en route to a 3-1 ValleyCats win at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium. Christian Rhode earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 3-1. The save went to Leonel Antunez, number 3 for him.

Tri-City took a 3-1 lead on Jim Welch's 19th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Welch hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Brooklyn pitcher Yorfran Carnes visibly frustrated.

"It was a tough night at the plate," said Brooklyn manager Bill Foshee.

The loss makes Brooklyn 47-12.
