Vermont Beats Connecticut, 2-1
|
Vermont Lake Monsters starter A.J. Wayne turned in a top-notch performance against the Connecticut Tigers at Centennial Field. The result was a win for the Lake Monsters, 2-1. Malik Olds nailed down his 6th save. Vermont has now won 12 straight, while the Tigers have lost 3 in a row.
The Lake Monsters got a big at-bat from left fielder Craig Svare. For the game, Svare went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave Vermont a 2-0 lead.
"We're playing like gangbusters right now," said Svare.
