The home team was supported by a raucous crowd at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium.

The Tri-City ValleyCats picked up a win at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium, taking down the Aberdeen Ironbirds, 4-3. Starting pitcher Jared Rumsey was a big reason why. Mike Contreras earned the save for Tri-City, his 9th of the year.

Tri-City second baseman Anrrique Joanes contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a fastball to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 16th hit of the season and put the ValleyCats ahead, 4-1.

"Coulda, shoulda, woulda," said Aberdeen manager Josh Ouderkirk. "We had our chances and didn't cash in."

The Tri-City win streak is now 3 games.
