Thrilling Walk-Off Win for Tigers
|
Connecticut beat Hudson Valley at Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium, escaping with a 3-2 win in 10 innings. The win in large part was due to shortstop Daniel Wright. He went 4-4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The third-place Renegades dropped to 22-38.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With no one out, Wright hit a curveball from Mario Calle for a run-scoring double. The Tigers, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"It's a thrill to get that kind of win," Wright said.
