Renegades Suffer 7-4 Setback
The Brooklyn Cyclones besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Hudson Valley third baseman Matt Johnson by beating the Renegades, 7-4, at MCU Park. Johnson was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Chris Ashworth snagged the win in relief. He goes to 4-2 on the season. Joe Williamson suffered the loss. The third-place Cyclones lifted their record to 31-29.

Brooklyn got a clutch hit from Dante Acosta. The center fielder socked a 3-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was game-ender.

"This game was intense," Acosta said, postgame.
