ValleyCats Collect 6-3 Win Over Tigers
Connecticut got a valiant performance from pitcher Phil Gibbs, but it wasn't enough to beat the Tri-City ValleyCats. Tri-City won the game, 6-3. Gibbs threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. With the victory, the ValleyCats upped their record to 37-23.

Tri-City got the win thanks to a clutch hit from Hunter Montford. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the ValleyCats ahead, 4-3. Though it was his only hit in 1 at-bat, it had a major impact on the outcome.

"No one wins," Montford said, "without the will to win."
