Muckdogs Sting Black Bears, 3-1
|
Batavia pitcher Eric Crain did his part in helping his team defeat the West Virginia Black Bears, 3-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. In 7 innings, Crain surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Victor Rodriguez notched his 2nd save in 2 chances.
John Clark chipped in for Batavia, stroking a crucial run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning. For the game, the third baseman was 1-4 with a double.
"It's a mindset," said Crain. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
By defeating West Virginia, the last-place Muckdogs improved to 20-40.
