Tigers Beat ValleyCats, 9-8
Tri-City center fielder Tony Montoya was sensational. He went 1-1 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Connecticut beat the ValleyCats, 9-8. Fernando Sandoval picked up the win with 6 innings of work. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 3-6. Getting the save was Victor Rodriguez, his 1st.

In the bottom of the first, Connecticut first baseman Jahiem Parker had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and no one out, Parker stroked a 2-run single to left. It made the score 2-1, Connecticut. For the game, he went 2 for 5 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Parker told a Connecticut Daily News reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."

Connecticut, at 24-37, holds down third place in the Stedler Division.
