A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Mahoning Valley Scrappers and Auburn Doubledays.

Mahoning Valley center fielder Eric Lowery had a 4-RBI performance, which helped his team down the Auburn Doubledays, 9-1. Mahoning Valley starter Seth Schubert was credited with the win after throwing 97 pitches over 6.2 innings. His record now stands at 6-2.

With Mahoning Valley leading 3-0 in the top of the third, Lowery hit a slider from Vitantonio Colletti for a grand slam home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Scrappers ahead, 7-0.

Scrappers manager Melvin Slosar had nothing but praise for his players after an impressive win, calling the result one of the team's best performances of the season. "Everything just came together on our end," he said. "I didn't need to do too much."

The first-place Scrappers are now 38-23, the Doubledays 24-37.
