The Auburn Doubledays beat the Staten Island Yankees, 8-1. Auburn pitcher and Atlanta, Georgia, native Bobby Rivera led the way. Rivera got the win, improving to 1-3. He gave up 2 hits and walked 1 over 7.1 innings. He allowed no runs. Auburn now sports a record of 23-38.
In the bottom of the fifth, Auburn center fielder John Calvin had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Calvin stroked a run-scoring single to right. It made the score 3-1, Auburn. For the game, he was 2 for 5 with 2 singles.
