Cyclones Lose By a Run at Vermont
|
The Vermont Lake Monsters earned a close win over the Brooklyn Cyclones, thanks in part to Ryan Geddes. The Vermont right-hander played a key role in the 2-1 victory. Geddes picked up the win for Vermont, going 5.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. Picking up the save was Clayton Brookshaw, his 7th.
The Lake Monsters got a big at-bat from first baseman Eddie Lara. For the game, Lara was 1-3 with a triple. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 2nd triple of the season gave Vermont a 1-0 lead.
"There was no wiggle room in this one," said Lara.
Vermont bumps their record to 35-26 with the win.
