Muckdogs Losing Streak at 5 After Extra-Inning Loss to Scrappers
The Mahoning Valley Scrappers did just enough to secure a victory over the Batavia Muckdogs, 8-7, in 11 innings at Eastwood Field. Nobody did more than second baseman Jesus Esqueda. The win was credited to Danny Nieto in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Matt Thornton took the loss. The 4th-place Scrappers now have a win-loss record of 23-39.

The Scrappers got a clutch hit from designated hitter Clint Creedon. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Scrappers.

"This game had its share of tense moments," Esqueda said, postgame.
