Tigers Lose Late, 5-3
|
Hudson Valley Renegades starter Pat Thompson pitched a strong game against the Connecticut Tigers at Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium, leading the Renegades to victory, 5-3. Hudson Valley, at 43-20, holds down second place in the McNamara Division.
Hudson Valley used the timely hitting of Danny Grimstad to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Renegades on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Grimstad told a Hudson Valley Observer reporter that he was "very satisfied" with the win.
