Lake Monsters Lose By a Run at Brooklyn
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Vermont Lake Monsters and Brooklyn Cyclones get after it.
The Brooklyn Cyclones had to overcome a good performance from Vermont pitcher Casey Valladares to claim a 1-0 win at MCU Park. Valladares went 7 innings and allowed 1 run. The Cyclones improved their record to 30-33 by beating Vermont.
Paul Bain drove in one run for Brooklyn. The 19-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Casey Valladares. It was his 1st RBI of the season.
"The old adage is true," said Bain. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
