Spikes Bump Off Crosscutters, 3-1

The State College Spikes topped the Williamsport Crosscutters, 3-1, in New York-Penn League action at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of State College pitcher Mario Morales. The winner was Morales. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball. The loser was Allen Gilmore. The Spikes are now 41-22.
The Spikes got a big hit from third baseman Chad Alberhasky. In the bottom of the sixth, Alberhasky smacked a 2-run home run off Williamsport pitcher Allen Gilmore. It was his 7th home run of the season. Suddenly, the Spikes were ahead, 2-1.
"A great team win and something real positive we can build on," said Alberhasky after the game.
