Lake Monsters Win in Extras, 4-3
|
For the home crowd, it was a thrilling walk-off win.
Vermont starter A.J. Wayne pitched well against the Aberdeen Ironbirds at Centennial Field. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. The first-place Lake Monsters raised their record to 43-21.
The Lake Monsters procured the win, in large part because of third baseman Marco Ramirez. In the bottom of the 12th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"Our team showed some gumption," said Wayne. "I like it."
