State College turned a good effort from starter Blake Visser into a win over the Auburn Doubledays at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. The final score was 4-2. Visser yielded 2 runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 0, and struck out 5. His record improves to 1-0. Matt Spiess earned save number 8 this season.

The Doubledays had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Spikes going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 20-year old catcher Bobby Hitt came to the plate. Hitt hit a 2-run double on a full count sinker from Auburn hurler Tony Alvarez. It was Hitt's 1st double of the year.

"I have a really good team behind me," Visser said. "I trust them 100 percent."

State College raised its record to 42-22 with the win.
