Skidding Yankees Lose 7th Straight
The Brooklyn Cyclones took Staten Island pitcher Jerry Custello's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Richmond County Bank Ballpark. The final score had Brooklyn getting past the Yankees, 3-1. Custello went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 5. Brooklyn pitcher Chris Horan earned the win, hiking his record to 3-2. Chris Gowland suffered the loss. With the win, Brooklyn raised its record to 34-31.

Brooklyn used the timely hitting of Jorge de la Rosa to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Cyclones on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Come up with some new questions," snapped losing manager Erik Bowman to reporters, "and I'll come up with some new answers."
