Connecticut Beats Brooklyn in Extra Innings
|
Tigers fans were sent into a frenzy with a walk-off win.
The Brooklyn Cyclones could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Jimmy Silverstein into a win. Instead, the Connecticut Tigers prevailed, 3-2. Silverstein threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Connecticut currently is in first place in the Stedler Division at 41-24.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Connecticut third baseman Kyle McElroy, facing Josh Colbert, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Tigers the 3-2 win.
"Put a star next to this win," McElroy said.
