Muckdogs Edge Crosscutters, 2-1

The Williamsport Crosscutters were defeated, 2-1, by the Batavia Muckdogs at Dwyer Stadium, even though Luis Quintana pitched well for Williamsport. Batavia reliever Dante Ponce picked up the win to move to 1-0. Luis Quintana suffered the loss. Manny Cisneros earned the save for Batavia, his 4th of the year.
Luke Baker was 1 for 3 with a hit by pitch for Batavia. The 21-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch off Josh Russell. It was his 3rd RBI of the season.
"We found a way to win tonight," Baker said.
The setback makes Williamsport 13-52.
