Doubledays Get Past Williamsport for 3-2 Win
Williamsport got a big-time effort from pitcher Jeremy Bennett, but it wasn't enough to keep the Auburn Doubledays from winning the game, 3-2. Bennett threw 7.0 innings allowing 1 runs for the losing team. The save went to Carlos Franco, his 4th this season. Auburn is now 26-40, Williamsport 52-14.

Auburn used a clutch hit from Justin Blumer to get the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Doubledays ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

Afterward, Doubledays manager Alexis Garcia was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
