Auburn Slaps 1-0 Loss on Black Bears
|
Vitantonio Colletti pitched a gem to lead Auburn to victory over the West Virginia Black Bears, 1-0. Colletti, now 3-4, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 4, walking 5, and allowing no runs. Matt Arnett sewed up the save, his 5th.
Noidis Fausett came through with a big-time hit for Auburn. The center fielder smacked a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 1-0. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Vitantonio had good arm action, good stuff," said Auburn manager Taylor Frank.
Today's win puts Auburn at 25-41, while West Virginia falls to 31-35.
