ValleyCats Win by Slim Margin, 5-4
|
The Tri-City ValleyCats faced a tough opponent in Hudson Valley pitcher Eric Ramsey, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Dutchess Stadium by a final score of 5-4. Ramsey went 5.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. Tri-City reliever John Ryan picked up the win, upping his record to 5-5. Tony Salas absorbed the loss. The ValleyCats now own a record of 41-25.
Tri-City used the clutch hitting of Tony Montoya to capture the win. The center fielder drilled a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to give the ValleyCats the lead, 5-2. For the game, Montoya had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Montoya told the Tri-City Herald.
