The Batavia Muckdogs trumped the State College Spikes, 7-2, at Dwyer Stadium. Batavia center fielder Alex Junco was terrific. He went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Batavia has 3 straight wins, State College 4 straight losses.
Rick Baylor, who is tied for 2nd in the NYP in stolen bases with 19, aided the Batavia cause with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the third baseman drove in one run.
"Ah, the sweet taste of victory," Baylor crowed after the game.
