The Tri-City ValleyCats and Lowell Spinners played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.

The Tri-City ValleyCats picked up a win at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium, knocking off the Lowell Spinners, 3-1. Starting pitcher Rich Liverman was a big reason why. The ValleyCats are now 26-41, while the Spinners fall to 26-40.

The ValleyCats got a big at-bat from center fielder Raul Romero. For the game, Romero went 1-4 with a triple and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 6th triple of the season gave Tri-City a 2-1 lead.
