Scrappers Win, 2-0, Versus Crosscutters

Adam Fyffe pitched well, but his team, the Williamsport Crosscutters, still dropped a 2-0 decision to the Mahoning Valley Scrappers at Bowman Field. Mahoning Valley pitcher Dustin Cox earned the win, hiking his record to 2-0. Adam Fyffe suffered the loss. Kevin Mathison recorded the save for Mahoning Valley, his 4th of the season.
The Crosscutters had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Scrappers going into the top of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old shortstop Ryan Forsberg came to the plate. Forsberg hit a solo home run on a 1-0 fastball from Williamsport hurler Adam Fyffe. It was Forsberg's 9th home run of the year.
"It wasn't easy, but we got it done," said Forsberg.
Mahoning Valley's record now stands at 43-24, placing them first in the Pinckney Division.
