Cyclones Get 5-2 Win Versus Connecticut
|
The rain came, as predicted, but the Brooklyn Cyclones and Connecticut Tigers were able to complete their ballgame.
Brooklyn Cyclones starter Dave Hoffman found his groove in his team's 5-2 win over the Connecticut Tigers. Bert Reed was called on to finish, recording his 3rd save.
Thomas Laviosa took Connecticut hurler Isidro Ortiz deep in the bottom of the sixth. His grand slam home run put the Cyclones on top, 5-2. In all, Laviosa had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Laviosa told reporters after the game.
With the win, the Cyclones have a record of 36-31.
