A 5-RBI performance from second baseman Jesus Cardenas, who is tied for 4th in the NYP in triples with 7, led the Staten Island Yankees to a win over the Aberdeen Ironbirds, 10-7. Marcos Samaniego was the winner. He's now 2-6. The loser was 20-year old right-handed pitcher Oscar Lopez. The third-place Yankees now have a record of 27-40.

The Yankees got a big boost from designated hitter Luis Colin who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the fourth inning off Ironbirds hurler Oscar Lopez. It was his 18th walk of the season and put Staten Island on top, 4-3.

"I know we have our doubters," said Aberdeen manager Josh Ouderkirk. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
