ValleyCats Reel Off Another Win
|
Tri-City took on Aberdeen in a contest which featured a pitchers' duel. John Kelling, in particular, was fantastic. The Tri-City right-hander helped his team snag the win, 3-1. Bill Saile, 2-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. Nick Avery, who is tied for 5th in the NYP in holds with 5, earned the save for Tri-City.
The ValleyCats got a big at-bat from shortstop Brandon Davis. For the game, Davis was 3 for 4 with a triple and a double. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 10th triple of the season gave Tri-City a 2-1 lead.
"Clutch hitting plus clutch pitching usually equals a win," said Davis.
This win makes it 7 in a row for Tri-City.
