Yankees Beat Lake Monsters, 5-3, at Richmond County Bank Ballpark

Staten Island picked up a win at Richmond County Bank Ballpark, bumping off the Vermont Lake Monsters, 5-3. Pitcher Jack Morrison was a major reason the Yankees emerged victorious. Morrison, the winner, moves to 5-3. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 1 walk. Curt Zill closed out the game, earning his 3rd save.
Trevor Prisbrey had a big run-scoring triple for the Yankees in the bottom of the first inning. With Staten Island leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Jake Duba and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 3rd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Yankees ahead, 2-0.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Prisbrey.
With the win, the Yankees improved to 38-31.
