Peterson Impressive in Mahoning Valley Win
|
Mahoning Valley rode a fine outing from starter Kevin Peterson to victory over the State College Spikes at Eastwood Field. The final score was 3-0. Lindsay Nickerson picked up the save, his 9th. The Pinckney Division-leading Scrappers have a record of 57-12.
Peterson was in the zone all game. He frustrated State College hitters while giving the Scrappers 7.1 innings of quality work. Peterson threw 89 pitches, allowing 4 hits and getting 8 punchouts.
"The division is still up for grabs, but I like our chances," Peterson told the Mahoning Valley Gazette.
