Slide Continues for Scrappers

Auburn turned a good effort from starter Steve Ludwig into a win over the Mahoning Valley Scrappers at Falcon Park. The Doubledays won the game, 3-2. Dan Crain got credit for the save for Auburn. It was his 7th of the year. The slumping Scrappers have dropped 7 in a row.
Steve DeLuca went 2-3 with a triple for Auburn. The 19-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Dave Telles. It was his 7th RBI of the season.
"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Mahoning Valley manager Jonathan Chaparro.
