Crosscutters Suffer 3-2 Home Loss
|
The rain could not keep the home crowd from enjoying a good ballgame.
The Batavia Muckdogs picked up a win at Bowman Field, defeating the Williamsport Crosscutters, 3-2. Starting pitcher Andy Martin was an essential part of his team's success. With the victory, the Muckdogs upped their record to 38-32.
Batavia used the hitting of Lance Underwood to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the second inning to put the Muckdogs on top, 3-0. For the game, Underwood had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
Williamsport manager B.J. Olenchuk said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
