Losing Streak Continues for Spinners with 8-2 Loss to ValleyCats
|
The losses keep piling up for the Lowell Spinners.
No one was more impactful than Bob Nunn in the 8-2 Tri-City win over Lowell. Nunn went 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The winning pitcher was 21-year old right-handed pitcher Luis Marquez. He tossed 88 pitches over 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits.
With Tri-City leading 2-0 in the top of the second, Nunn batted against Lowell pitcher Pascoal Fradessa. Nunn hit a fastball to right for a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season put the ValleyCats on top, 4-0.
"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said Tri-City skipper Eddie DiGiovine.
The Spinners, now 31-39, have lost 12 in a row.
