Win Goes to Cyclones in Tight Contest
West Virginia got a valiant performance from pitcher Vince Huffman, but it wasn't enough to beat the Brooklyn Cyclones. Brooklyn won the game, 4-2. Huffman threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Jediah Childers closed it out for Brooklyn, earning his 8th save. The Cyclones, at 34-36, sit in third place in the McNamara Division.

Ramiro Melendez provided a timely hit. The Brooklyn left fielder delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Cyclones on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.

Melendez attributed the triumph to "a good team effort."
