The State College Spikes got a rain-soaked win over the West Virginia Black Bears.

Starting pitcher Manol Aleman gave the State College Spikes a rock-solid effort. The Ciudad Bolívar, Venezuela native helped his team defeat the West Virginia Black Bears, 3-0, at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. Mike Wiard closed it out for State College, earning his 1st save.

Chad Gutshall, the 15th overall pick in the 2105 draft, came through for State College with a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh. The first baseman went 3 for 4 for the game, including 2 home runs and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and collected 2 RBI.

Afterward, West Virginia manager Alex Barahona said: "We've hit a rough patch."

With the victory, the Spikes upped their record to 41-29.
