Batavia Nets 2-1 Win Versus Black Bears
|
Batavia turned a good effort from starter Tony Alcaraz into a win over the West Virginia Black Bears at Russell Diethrick Park. The final score was 2-1. Earning his 3rd save of the year was Tony Diaz. Batavia, with the win, is 21-49.
Francisco Jauregui had a direct impact on the outcome. Jauregui contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the eighth inning to put Batavia up, 2-1.
"You have to win 1-0, 3-2, 2-1 games if you want to get to where you want to go," said Muckdogs manager Pat Gilman.
