The Williamsport Crosscutters beat the Batavia Muckdogs, 2-0. Williamsport pitcher and Wright, Florida, native Jeremy Bennett led the way. Bennett got the win, improving to 10-3. He allowed 4 hits and walked 5 over 7.1 innings. Bennett allowed no runs. Billy Kamp earned save number 12 this season.
Early in the game, third baseman Gaige Spicer had a 2-run home run for Williamsport. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Crosscutters on top, 2-0.
"I still think this team can play even better," Bennett told the Williamsport Observer.
Williamsport is now 57-14.
