Tigers Use Late Rally to Win
The Staten Island Yankees could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Rich Mondragon into a win. Instead, the Connecticut Tigers prevailed, 7-2. Mondragon threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The win gives Connecticut a season record of 40-31.

Connecticut took a 3-2 lead on Mark Mackey's 2nd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Mackey hit in the top of the ninth, left Staten Island pitcher Luis Batista visibly frustrated.

"We didn't get the results that we wanted," said Staten Island skipper Erik Bowman.
