Dawson Powers Ironbirds to 11-5 Win
With center fielder Chris Dawson leading the charge, the Aberdeen Ironbirds defeated the Lowell Spinners, 11-5, at Ripken Stadium. Dawson was 3 for 5 with a home run and a triple. He scored 3 times and drove in 4. Preston Erickson, the winner, is now 4-1. He struck out 6 and walked 3 over 6.2 innings, while allowing 3 runs on 7 hits. At 51-20, the Ironbirds are currently first in the McNamara Division.

With Aberdeen leading 4-0 in the bottom of the third, Dawson batted against Lowell pitcher Nate Pagani. Dawson hit a fastball to left for a grand slam home run. His 1st home run of the season put the Ironbirds on top, 8-0.

"This was a nice win for us," said Dawson. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
