Connecticut Tigers pitcher Jaden Cooper was in top form, leading his team past the Brooklyn Cyclones, 4-0. Kenneth Creasy snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. Mike McGuire suffered the loss. The first-place Tigers now have a win-loss record of 41-31.

The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Ray Cohen came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Brooklyn pitcher Mike McGuire, he hit a 2-1 cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Connecticut on top, 1-0.

"Jaden was hitting his spots," said Connecticut manager Allen Franklin. "It's hard to pitch better than that."
