Connecticut and Lowell took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.

Lowell got a terrific game from second baseman Jesus Hernandez. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Connecticut, 6-4. Hernandez went 2-2 with a home run, a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The win belonged to Orlando Vigil in relief. His record improves to 5-2. Jake Schafer took the loss for Lowell. Hector Romero recorded his 6th save for Connecticut.

Matt Garduno hit a 2-run home run off Jake Schafer in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Tigers ahead, 6-4. In addition to the homer, Garduno had 1 double, while going 2 for 5.

"I believe in our guys," said Connecticut skipper Sean Raymond. "I like the energy they're playing with."

Connecticut goes to 49-23, Lowell to 28-43.
