Loss to Doubledays Extends Williamsport Losing Streak
|
Williamsport got a decent performance from pitcher Nate Hatch, but it wasn't enough to beat the Auburn Doubledays. Auburn won the Bowman Field contest, 3-1. Hatch threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Mikey Thomas picked up the win, improving his season record to 3-2. He struck out 4 in 5.2 innings. The Doubledays improved to 34-39.
The Doubledays got a big at-bat from first baseman Lance Ramsey. For the game, Ramsey went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Auburn a 2-0 lead.
"From the last whatever, five, six, seven games, there's really only one way to go and that's up," said losing manager Joe Hale.
