Ironbirds 9-4 Victors Over Staten Island
The Aberdeen Ironbirds defeated the Staten Island Yankees, 9-4, at Ripken Stadium. Matt Raschke was one of the standouts for Aberdeen. His 2 hits included 1 single and 1 triple -- this in addition to the 1 run he scored and 3 he knocked in. Ruben Garcia picked up the win, lifting his record to 2-2 on the season. He struck out 7 and walked 0 in 5.1 innings, while yielding 2 runs. With the win over Staten Island, the Ironbirds improved to 32-41.

Raschke contributed a big hit, a 2-run triple, for Aberdeen in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-1, Raschke took a fastball from Juan Sanchez and stroked the triple to right-center. His 2nd triple of the season allowed the Ironbirds to leap in front, 3-2.

"We took home the win," said Raschke. "What's not to like?"
