The Auburn Doubledays beat the West Virginia Black Bears, 4-1. Auburn pitcher and Caracas, Venezuela, native Ruben Gutiorroz led the way. Estevan Aguilera nailed down his 4th save. Auburn, at 37-36, holds down 4th place in the Pinckney Division.

The Doubledays got a big at-bat from left fielder Malachi Dash. For the game, Dash was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Auburn a 3-0 lead.

"Ruben did a good job mixing and matching," said Auburn manager Carlos Lugo.
