Jim Turner had a good game, but he could not keep the Fort Wayne TinCaps from falling, 8-3, to the Great Lakes Loons at Parkview Field. The Fort Wayne right fielder was 2 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once in the loss. Pablo Pena went 6.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits. The left-hander struck out 3 and walked 3. With the win, he ups his record to 1-0 this season. The win puts the Loons at 91-44, while the TinCaps drop to 64-71.

Great Lakes used the timely hitting of Jeremy Strickland to capture the win. The shortstop stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Loons on top, 6-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.

"We did a lot of good things tonight," said Great Lakes manager Ivan Cruz.
